Obituary of Michael Alan Gross
Michael Alan Gross, 52, Spring City Musician
Michael Alan Gross, 52, Spring City, husband of Maria Tucker Gross, died Friday, June 8th, 2018, at Temple University Hospital after a short illness. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Joseph F. Gross and the late Dorothy Jean (Haines) Mars.
Besides his wife Maria, Michael is survived by a daughter, Ashley Tamara (Gross) Engdahl, Bethlehem; sons Joshua Michael Gross and Joseph Scott Gross, Muhlenberg; two stepsons, Justin Anthony Bodek, and Thomas Edward Ammarell, and one granddaughter, Rosalie, all of Royersford, a brother, Kevin Gross and a sister, Traci (Gross) Cappel.
He was pre-deceased by his step-father, the late Jack Mars, whom he loved very much.
A 1984 graduate of Spring-Ford High School, Michael worked for Brelsford Insulation, North Wales, for many years, a job he loved until his recent illness. Mike’s early jobs included a youthful stint at Royersford’s Famous Pizza where he learned to make a mean cheesesteak, and a short career at Diamond Glass, Royersford, with his father. Mike was a fervent musician and a former member of the band, The Kind, which gave him some of his happiest moments. He enjoyed music of various genres, especially blues and rock. One of his many skills was building guitars.
Mike’s happiest hours were with his children and he was a proud and doting “Pops” to little Rosalie. His latest project involved renovating the house he loved and shared with his wife and where they used his amazing skills and teamwork to make it a home. Mike was also very close to his numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and shared many good times laughing and jamming with the boys.
Mike will be missed by his family and many friends and those who’s hearts he touched.
May he rest in peace and may he bring the joy of rock and roll to all in heaven.
