Leighton Hacker
Leighton “Hack” Hacker passed away peacefully on Sept 8, 2017. He spent the last 14 years living in the Shannondell community. Leighton was born in Lansdale, PA.. He grew up in Spring City, PA., where he went to high school at Spring City and graduated in 1939. Before he went overseas in World War II to China- Burma-India he married his hometown sweet heart Sara Henry.
After being discharged from the Air Force in 1946 he started working as a photoengraver for the Times Herald. He continued his printing career until retiring from R.T. Wickersham in 1988.
Golfing and bowling were his favorite past times. His love of traveling took him all over the U.S. Trips to Russia and a German river cruise were among his favorites.
Leighton is survived by his son David (Sue) of Eagleville and a granddaughter Cheryl of Boston. He was predeceased by his wife Sara.
Funeral services will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Red Cross Hurricane relief fund are appreciated.
