Dad had a considerable collection of elephants. He especially liked elephants with upturned trunks which is a sign of good luck, long life, and happiness. He enjoyed going to yard sales not only to find elephants to add to his collection, but for the opportunity to meet others.
I gifted him Elijah, an elephant that caught my eye with its "smile" and expressive eyes. Elijah made my heart smile, and I wished the same for Dad.
I have now given Elijah a home with me. He continues to make my heart smile because I think of Dad, whom I miss dearly.

Dad always accepted me for who I was. He found pleasure in simple things, but mostly loved having family together. ❤️
I remember at Christmas he took great pride in setting up a special platform by the tree that had an extensive village and running model train that he lovingly maintained.
I loved our talks together where any subject was game. I will always miss him dearly.
